Welcome to Stone's Throw.

Twelve more tales for your dark delight. Another year of hard-hitting crime fiction and noir.

Now in its third year, Stone’s Throw is the online companion to Rock and a Hard Place Magazine. Each month, we offered a theme for writers to wax darkly on—war, greed, hubris, pop punk, and the office holiday party. Each month, our writers delivered the goods.

The stories debuted on the web, before landing in the print anthology you now hold. Crack it open and enjoy what comes spilling out.

A year’s worth of bad decisions and desperate people, and you ain’t seen nothing yet.

She has previously published stories in Punk Noir Magazine and Urban Pigs Magazine.

JENN HOOKER (she/her; on Instagram @thejennhooker) is an unapologetically queer crime writer from the San Francisco Bay Area. When she's not hatching new schemes or actively writing, she's spending time with her family, tending to her yard, or curled up with a good book.
